Airline Review – With Singapore Airlines to NYC
On my way to New York I’ve flown with Singapore Airlines for the first time. I’ve only heard good things about them before booking my flight so I decided to give them a try 🙂 I enjoy flying with different Airlines. It’s always nice to try out something new. Our airplane was the A380, which I adore anyways <3
After entering the airplane you were brought to your seat by a flight attendant. Their outfits are super cute. What I recognized immediately: the cabin smelled really good. Plus points for using a nice room spray… ha ha.
Like always I went for the window seat. I was lucky that the place next to me was empty. Hence, I could put my laptop, purse etc. there 😀 Even before taking off we were give a warm towel, what I always like. There was already a cuddly pillow and blanket on your seat when you got there. Now I had even two 😀
After reaching level flight, we were handed a menu with different food options. Although it wasn’t really for me 😛 I ordered a special meal after I booked my flight. I often do that on long haul flights. Most of the times I go for the „low calorie meal“. It’s light and yummy at most Airlines. Besides that it has the advantage that you always get served your food first 😀 At most Airlines ordering a special meal is free. Just register online with your booking code (up to 48h prior departure) and choose among various meal options. Other options are gluten-free, vegetarian etc.
I’ve decided to make a little Onboard Food Diary for you guys, so you’ll know what to expect if you every fly with them 🙂
First Meal – Light Lunch: My personal favorite was the dessert trio 😀 Fruit Salad, Greek Yogurt and rice pudding with red fruit sauce.
Everything was delicious! The rice and the chicken weren’t anything special (the normal food looked much better and I was a bit mad at myself for choosing the special menue… haha). However, my meal was at least low calorie 😀 But why these boring white rolls?! 😛
Second meal – Dinner: Dinner didn’t dissappoint me (besides the white roll again) 😛 The fish was really tender and I love broccoli. However, the dessert trio was missing 😀 At least you always get fruit salad with the low calorie meal (and no sugar and fat loaded cake) 😀 Hence, everything is fine and I didn’t need to have a bad conscience 😉 Although we were even offered Magnum later… haha.
Of course the obligatory tomato juice couldn’t be missed 😛
The entertainment system is really great as well. I’m that person who will work on their laptop or sleep. However, for all those that appreciate a good entertainment system, Singapore Airlines is definitely a great Airline for you!
What I also really liked about them that there was hand lotion and toothbrushes in the restroom. Those are those little things that matter. The only negative thing I can say about them is that their inboard internet didn’t work. I paid $14,99 for it but it wasn’t working at all 🙁 That was really disappointing and I won’t do that again…
Here is my Rating für Singapore Airlines (5 is the maximum):
Overall I would definitely fly with Singapore Airlines again. They are not as good as my favorite Airline Qatar Airways. Nevertheless, I can definitely recommend Singapore Airlines.
Have you ever flown with Singapore Airlines? And if so, what experiences did you have?
