Naming Ceremony of MSC Meraviglia in Le Havre, France

If I interrupt my Bora Bora trip because of something it must be something special for sure. And that was definitely the case with the naming ceremony of the MSC Meraviglia! Already as a child when I watched the German TV series “Traumschiff” (Dream Ship) I dreamed about doing a cruise with one of these big ships one day. Now having been able to experience a launching ceremony of a cruise ship it was definitely an incredible experience!

The naming ceremony ofย MSC Meraviglia took place in in Le Havre which is approximately 2 1/2 hours away from Paris. We were super lucky with the weather because it was a sunny day ๐Ÿ™‚

The ceremony was really magical! This was among other things due to the gigantic fireworks. The godmother of MSC Meraviglia was Sofia Loren who looked still amazing being over 80 years old ๐Ÿ˜€

Furthermore, there were some amazing speeches held and some famous musicians performed. For instance Kids Unicef sang for Kids Unicef because each yearย MSC donates quite a high amount to Unicef.

MSC Meraviglia belongs to MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company) the biggest privately owned shipping company in the world.

We stayed one night in a Balcony Cabin. Such a cabin has the advantage that you get to watch the sunrise or sunset right from your own cabin. Furthermore, you can also have breakfast on your own balcony ๐Ÿ™‚

We were able to stay the night at MSC Meraviglia and of course also looked around. There are endless possibilities on board so you will never get bored. For instance the ship has its own Spa and various different Restaurants.

My favorite part on the ship was the gigantic Pool Landscape including several slides etc.

Overall MSC Meraviglia is an amazing ship and I would love to do an entire trip with it. Furthermore, it was simply an amazing experience attending such a magical naming ceremony ๐Ÿ™‚

Have you ever done a cruise? And if so: How did you like it?

Xoxo
