My Top 10 Travel Tips for Thailand

My Top 10 Travel Tips for Thailand

Thailand is a really wonderful and stunning country! We explored many different areas of Thailand. Thus, I wanna give you some Travel Tips for Thailand today and let you know where we enjoyed being the most:

1) Visit the Ang Thong National Marine Park

We did many great excursions in Thailand but our favorite one was the day trip to Ang Thong National Marine Park. You can go hiking there, go kayaking, swim in terrific turquoise water, go snorkling and much much more. Read my blog post about our trip to Ang Thong National Marine Park here.

2) Go Kayaking

You definitely need to explore Thailand via water. A great possibility to do this is renting some kayaks. Kayaking isn’t only a great workout it also gives you the chance to have a look at caves, lagunas etc. 🙂

3) Visit Hong Island

We really enjoyed seeing the North Islands of Thailand. Our favorite island there was Hong Island. We were so lucky to be able to do a private tour from our hotel Six Senses Yao Noi. If you don’t have the chance to do that through your resort just book a tour through a tour provider. Visiting the North Islands especially Hong Island is definitely worth it 🙂

4) Do a Boat Trip with a Long Tail Boat

There are many tour providers in Thailand which offer excursions with speedboats. However, doing a tour with a traditional long tail boat is much better! Long tail boats are the traditional Thai boats and they are also much suitable for preserving the nature. Furthermore, they look much better in pictures 😉

5) Go Snorkling or Diving

The underwater world in Thailand is simply stunning! I’ve never seen this many colorful fish at once. Therefore, you really need to go snorkling or diving in Thailand 🙂

6) Visit “The Beach” or Maya Bay

Attention! If you think Maya Bay which is famous from the movie “The Beach” looks like in the movie you are mistaken. Ten years ago when I visited Thailand for the first time this was still the case. Unfortunately nowadays this isn’t the case anymore. Unfortunately the beach is very touristy and totally crowded so the impression isn’t the same anymore. I recommend you going there as early in the day as possible in order to avoid the crowds. In itself the beach is simply stunning and one of the most impressive ones I’ve ever seen 🙂

7) Rent a Roller

If you have time in Thailand you definitely should rent a roller and drive around. Renting a roller is not only super cheap in Thailand it is also super fun 🙂

8) Watch Sunrises & Sunsets

Sunrises as well as sunsets are really stunning in Thailand! Hence, it is definitely worth it waking up early in order not to miss these color plays 🙂

9) Visit Koh Samui & Krabi

We explored many different areas of Thailand but our favorite one was Koh Samui and Krabi. My recommendation therefore is to spend some nights at each and look around 🙂

10) Try out Thai Food

I always find it very important when I travel to try out the local cuisine. However, you need to be careful with Thai food: If you don’t like spicy food always say “please mild” otherwise the food will be VERY spicy 😀 Furthermore, it is better to avoid street food and follow when it comes to food the principle “cook it, peel it or leave it” 😉

Have you ever been to Thailand? And if so: Which place did you like most?
