Abu Dhabi Travel Diary

Abu Dhabi Travel Diary

Hi lovelies,

one week ago we were able to spend three wonderful days inΒ Abu Dhabi together with Visit Abu Dhabi. It was already my third visit in Abu Dhabi and maybe also the best one πŸ™‚ Today I wanna report what we were able to experience there:

Abu Dhabi Day 1

The evening before we arrived in Abu Dhabi with Etihad Airways from Frankfurt. The flight from Germany is really short which is very convenient about Abu Dhabi as a location. Furthermore, I think Etihad Airways is an awesome airline and I always enjoy flying with them πŸ™‚

Because we arrived at 8pm the day before we went straight to the hotel: For our first two nights we wanted to stay at the beach so we chose St. Regis Saadiyat Island as a hotel. The resort is really stunning and has the perfect location because it is located right at Saadiyat Beach. The colors of the sea are very tropical there and you feel like being in the Caribbean πŸ™‚

The next morning we took off at Yas Marina to a short boat trip. Capt. Tony’s Island Beach Getaway took us with a nice speedboat to Dolphin Bay. We would have never thought what we were about to expect there! Would you really think this is Abu Dhabi?! πŸ˜€

After the beautiful boat trip we had lunch at Ingredients at the Anantara Eastern Mangroves Hotel. Because the weather in Abu Dhabi is quite hot at the moment I just had a small salad which was very good though.

In the afternoon we got dropped off at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. To me no Abu Dhabi visit should end without visiting the Grand Mosque. Last time we were there right before sunset. This time we visited a bit earlier so the mosque shined in beautiful blue and white colors! I can really recommend you visiting the Grand Mosque at different times of the day. It always looks different but is always very beautiful πŸ™‚

After visiting the mosque we had dinner at our hotel. Also as a non hotel guest I can recommend you trying out 55&5th The Grill at St. Regis Saadiyat Island! The foord there is excellent!

Abu Dhabi Day 2

The second day of our trip we were initially planning to drive out to the desert. However, we rescheduled this and spent the day onΒ Yas Island instead because we really wanted to drive with the fastest rollercoaster in the world πŸ˜€

After breakfast at the hotel we first did some shopping at Yas Mall. You can find many International brands there and various great shops. Of course I also had to stop by Victoria’s Secret and found many nice things there πŸ˜€

Afterwards we walked to the Ferrari World which is located adjacent to the mall. You can also find the fastest rollercoaster in the world there. I need to admit that I was quite scared beforehand but when you are actually on it and feel the rush it is incredible! Unfortunately the ride was much too short so we definitely need to come back πŸ˜€

For lunch we chose my favorite restaurant: The Cheesecake Factory. It is also located in the mall and it was the perfect recover after our exciting rollercoaster ride πŸ˜€

After lunch we checked into our second hotel:Β Emirates Palace. We stayed there during our last Abu Dhabi visit and absolutely loved it! Hence, we really wanted to come back. So we spent the afternoon at the beautiful pool of Emirates Palace which is also for adults a dream πŸ˜€

For dinner we had booked a nice table at Cipriani which is located right at Yas Marina. The food there is amazing and the atmosphere is also very nice πŸ™‚ Especially for a special location I can really recommend this restaurant!

Abu Dhabi Day 3

We spent the morning of our last day in Abu Dhabi at the hotel and we really enjoyed sleeping in a bit.

In the afternoon we had a wonderful Afternoon Tea at Jumeirah at Emirates Tower. You get served a great selection of sweet and savoury dishes along with a stunning view over Abu Dhabi. This experience is definitely worth it!

Afterwards we went back to the hotel where a spa treatment was already waiting for us. The Spa at Emirates Palace is one of the most beautiful ones I’ve ever seen. Furthermore, the massage was the best we’ve ever had (and this means something)!! More precisely we even had a milk bath, a massage and a mini facial which were all amazing! Thus, you really need to try out the spa at Emirates Palace (also as a non hotel guest) πŸ˜‰

Now we’ve arrived at our next destination: Maldives. We again had a wonderful stay in Abu Dhabi and are already excited for the next one πŸ™‚

Have you ever been to Abu Dhabi? And if so: What did you like best there?

Xoxo
