22 Aug The 10 best Rooftops in New York City
Hi lovelies,
I just got back from NYC and already heading to the next beautiful destination. New York has been incredible again although the first days were quite stressful because it was extremely hot in the City. The heat wasn’t even such a big problem but rather the high humidity which was a challenge for everyone. This showed me once again why I love fall in NYC so much π
Today I wanna introduce my 10 Favorite Rooftops in NYC to you guys now:
1) Mr. Purple
I’ve discovered Mr. Purple, the rooftop at the Indigo Hotel on the Lower East Side, the last time together with Xenia. You definitely need to go there for sunset which is really incredible here! Mr. Purple not only has good food but also a nice rooftop pool. Only the service wasn’t as great when we visited but this view makes everything seem only secondary π
2) Refinery Rooftop
A great rooftop for lunch or in the evening for a few drinks is the Refinery Rooftop on top of the Refinery Hotel. I can recommend you ordering the quinoa chicken salad or the fries which you both then can enjoy along with a lovely view π
3) Catch
For those who like seafood Catch in Meatpacking Disctrict is the place to go. It’s beautifully decorated and the rooftop as well as the restaurant are also super romantic spots. Hence, Catch is the perfect location for a date π However, there are really only seafood dishes on the menu which was the reason why we decided to go to another restaurant in Meatpacking District (I can really recommend you visiting “Spice Market” which offers amazing Asian Fusion cuisine) π
4) Top of the Rock
In my opinionΒ Top of the Rock is a must thing to do when visiting NYC. The observatory of the Rockefeller Center offers a grand view over Central Park and the Empire State Building. Hence, you should definitely visit it! It is also worth watching the sunset from up there which is on a nice day simply breath-taking π
5) Le Bain at Standard Hotel
Another great rooftop in Meapacking Disctrict is the Le Bain at the Standard Hotel. You can not only find a nice whirlpool with a view there but also a nice rooftop where the scene of New York meets.
6) St. Cloud at Knickerbocker Hotel
For those who would like to see a rooftop at Times Square I can recommend you to visit St. Cloud on top of the Knickerbocker Hotel directly at Times Square. You should definitely order the fish tacos there which taste simply amazing (and not only because of the beautiful view) π
7) Sky Terrace at Hudson Hotel
A nice rooftop at Columbus Circle is the Sky Terrace at Hudson Hotel. Even though you cannot order any food or drinks there you still get to enjoy a lovely view over Hudson River. Especially cozy are the comfy sunbeds at Sky Terrace. Hence, this rooftop is especially suited for couples or close friends π
8) Roof Garden Bar at MET
I’m usually not a big fan of museums but the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) at Central Park really impressed me. Also the rooftop at theΒ MET is extremely wonderful. Hence, there are many reasons why you should visit this wonderful museum π
10) Gansevoort Rooftop
Another great rooftop pool is the one at Gaansevoort Hotel also in Meatpacking Disctrict. We might have seen the most stunning sunset there ever. Hence, this rooftop is also perfect for a date or for pregaming π
9) Empire State Building
The observatory at the Empire State Building offers a beautiful panorama over Manhatten. I personally like Top of the Rock a bit more as you have a nice view from there over Central Park and the Empire State Building. For those who’ve seen it already it is also worth visiting the observatory of the Empire State Building π
Do you know other rooftops in NYC besides the ones mentioned above? I always love to discover new places π

Posted at 19:25h, 23 OctoberHi Maddi, I love your pictures! I remember seeing a photo of you quite a long ago. You seemed to be sitting at a restaurant having brunch with a view over central park. Do you recall the name of that restaurant? Thank you!
