My Travel Tips for Los Angeles + Healthy Restaurant Guide

Los Angeles definitely belongs to my favorite cities in the world. I spent my semester abroad in LA (at USC) and I still have some friends there. Hence, LA doesn’t feel like a vacation destination to me but rather like a second home (after Hawaii of course… hi hi) 😀

LA Travel Tips

1) Santa Monica

Santa Monica including Santa Monica Beach, Santa Monica Place and Santa Monice Pier belong to my absolute favorite places in LA. With Uber Pool it often only costs around $10 to get from the city to Santa Monica. Hence, even without car it’s very cheap and quick to get to another nice place in LA 🙂

2) Walk of Fame

I’m not a big fan of tourist attractions. However, at least once in your life you should walk along the Walk of Fame. It is really fun exploring the stars of your favorite VIPs 🙂 Furthermore, you almost always get to see Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and other look alikes there who love to take funny pictures with people 😛

3) Runyon Canyon

My favorite hike in LA is the one that leads to behind the Hollywood sign, also called Runyon Canyon. I can recommend you hiking up there right before sunset because it’s not only a great time for taking beautiful pictures but also for experiencing amazing moments 🙂

4) Malibu

Not far away from Los Angeles is Malibu located which you can reach via driving along the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway. Hence, it is definitely worth renting a convertible car or motorcycle to get there. In Malibu there are many great attractions such as Malibu Beach or the beautifully located Pepperdine University.

5) Getty Center & Getty Villa

I looooove the Getty Center and the Getty Villa. Both are especially of interest for design fans! My favorite is the less touristic Getty Villa which is also located in Malibu.

6) LA Nightlife

Los Angeles offers every day of the week an amazing nightlife. Hence, it is worth taking advantage of it! Those that like meeting locals when going out  Hyde Lounge in Beverly Hills is a great location. The crowd there is… let’s say it “interesting” 😀 Hence, only for entertainment reasons it is worth spending some time there. We for instance met stars like Kylie Jenner at Hyde. The club is known for it’s high vip saturation. For those that prefer bars over clubs I can recommend you visiting  Shore Bar in Santa Monica. It’s a beautiful bar with a cool crowd that is more casual than at Hyde 😉

You can choose between different healthy salads, protein sources such as fish, chicken etc. and warm meals including various desserts.

2) Mendocino Farms

In LA there are also such cool locations as Toca Madera which is a restaurant and a bar in one. The mostly Mexican food there is totally delicious. However, the food is not even that important because the atmosphere including the great music at Toca Madera is amazing! It is definitely a place to see and to be seen. For those who like such locations this is your place to be 🙂
