Sheraton Maui, Road to Hana, Haleakalā & Dream Beaches – Maui Travel Diary

Sheraton Maui, Road to Hana, Haleakalā & Dream Beaches – Maui Travel Diary

Aloha lovelies,

we just got back to Oahu from beautiful Maui. Time to share my impressions of this island with you guys 🙂 It was my first time in Maui so already beforehand I was super excited for it.

We flew from Oahu to Maui with Island Air. In contrast to my last horrible low cost carrier experience (read it here) I was really impressed by Island Air. All employees (on ground as well as in the air) were super friendly, hand luggage was free, checked luggage only cost $15 per piece, even though the flight was only 50 minutes long you get water or juice for free so overall the flight was great 🙂 Hence, I was really satisfied with Island Air and would definitely fly with them again.

But here are our Highlights of Maui:

New Hotel Sheraton Maui

On Maui we stayed at the beautiful Sheraton Maui which we really loved. The entire hotel complex is stunning 🙂

This was the breath-taking view from our room 🙂

Also the food at Sheraton Maui was amazing! And with such a view everything tastes even better 😀

This is how sweet we were welcomed at the hotel: Hawaiian goodies wrapped in banana leaves. How original!

Especially the pool landscape, the cliff diving and the direct beach location make the Sheraton Maui a real special hotel so we would definitely go there again anytime 🙂

Whale Watching

IMG_1231

My absolute favorite thing about our trip to Maui was watching whales from very close. The were so lucky seeing tons of them (at least 10 including some baby whales) 😀 I had goose bumps because I’ve never seen whales before and they are such beautiful animals 🙂

We also saw some spinner dolphins. Hence, it was twice the luck 😀

Road to Hana

IMG_9879

If you ever visit Maui definitely drive along the Road to Hana. Never in my life have I seen such a tropical road 😀

You should make a few stops there:

Order some banana bread (the best ever!) and a smoothie at Aunty Sandy’s 🙂

As you can see there are many nice stops at Road to Hana. Hence, definitely drive along this road 🙂

Sunrise at Haleakalā National Park

We had to wake up at 2am for it, drive 2 hours by car to get there and freeze like crazy on the top 😛 But it was all worth it! How stunning is this sunrise please?! 😀 I will upload a video soon 😉

Nakalele Blowhole

On Valentine’s Day we discovered this beautiful heart-shaped cave. You just need to climb down a few rocks but the view down there is really worth it 🙂

Really cool are the Olivine Pools to which you also need to hike.
