12 Feb Moana Surfrider, Sunset Surfing & Diamond Head Hike – Hawaii Travel Diary Day 5 – 7
Aloha lovelies,
please excuse that I didn’t publish any new blog posts the past days. We did sooo many cool things here in Hawaii that every evening I was simply too tired to blog π Although I also find it important sometimes to just relax and put the laptop and mobile phone away. I believe the past months I wrote a blog post almost daily π Hence, I also enjoyed this time out now π
Nevertheless, I always took my camera with me the past days. Hence, I wanna show you our highlights now π Find my Jumpsuit here β‘
New Hotel Moana Surfrider
We had the honor spending two nights in the very first (and in my opinion also most beautiful) hotel in Waikiki: The Moana Surfrider π I immediately fell in love with the hotel which is simply stunning from the inside and the outside π
In the hotel there are many beautiful pillars everywhere. The white interior is exactly my style π
This is how sweet we were welcomed by the hotel π
I’m so in love with the view from our hotel room π
The food at Moana Surfrider is also amazing! I can definitely recommend you having lunch or high tea at The Veranda. They even serve yummy acai bowls there of which I just cannot get enough π
Hawaiian Luau
Those of you who have been to Hawaii before might know what aΒ Luau is. Honestly, I’ve never attended one before so I was super excited getting invited to see one at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel π
First we had delicious food, then an incredible show where via Hawaiian dances and songs the history of Hawaii was explained. Being a huge Hawaii lover this was really impressive to me and I can definitely recommend you attending this Luau!
Sunset Surfing
My highlight so far of the trip was sunset surfing in Waikiki Beach. Pictures cannot show how beautiful it really was watching the sunset while doing what you love π
Because my boyfriend has never surfed before we decided to go surfing with a surf instructor. I’ve never had any surf lessons so it was also super helpful to me. We went surfing with Buddy (you can find him on Instagram via @oahusurflessons). He showed us amazing tips and tricks π Thank you so much… you are awesome Buddy!
We were in the water for over 2 hours and I was standing up each time (besides once) π Even my boyfriend stood up a lot. So Buddy really is the best surf intructor ever!! Thus, if you ever need a surf intructor on Oahu definitely contact him!
Diamond Head Hike
After a long day full of adventures we wanted to do a hike in the afternoon that was not far away from our hotel because we had theΒ Luau later. We decided to do the Diamond Head Hike because it is only 5 minutes away from our hotel.
The hike starts in the crater of Waikiki. It is totally doable also for hiking beginners.
Reaching the top the view was definitely impressive! However, in my opinion the hike was a bit too touristy. Even though it was a good workout I don’t think I will do it again. Read about a dream we did hike here π
West Coast Oahu
Yesterday we drove towards Yokohama Bay which is supposed to be one of the most beautiful beaches on Oahu. Unfortunuately we were stoped right before reaching it because the waves there were so strong that the road to Yokohama Bay got closed. So we decided to explore some other beaches on the west coast instead and discovered some really beautiful ones π
With our baby that we unfortunately need to return tomorrow π
As you can see we really had an incredible time here on Oahu. We also have been so lucky with the weather which was (besides one day) more than amazing π Tomorrow we’ll be flying to Maui for four days. Luckily we’ll return to Oahu for three days afterwards. Although of course I’m also very much looking forward to visiting Maui. I’ve never been there so your tips are very helpful π
Xoxo
