I often get asked the question: “Which destination is the best honeymoon destination?” You certainly cannot answer this just like that as it all depends on what you’re looking for in a vacation. Nevertheless, I wanna introduce my personal Top 10 Honeymoon Destinations to you guys today:

10) Cape Town, South Africa

The landscape in Cape Town is not only stunning there are also many romantic beaches and places there. How about doing some vine tasting with a beautiful panorama? Or watching penguins in the wild? You can experience all that in South Africa 🙂

9) Phuket, Thailand

My favorite movie “The Beach” was shot in Thailand. For a reason as Thailand (especially Phuket) has many gorgeous beaches. The green-turqoise water and the mountains in the background are very impressive! Therefore, Thailand is definitely a beautiful honeymoon destination 🙂

8) Bahamas

A few year ago I did a cruise to the Bahamas. I cannot only recommend doing that but also visiting the Bahamas as a destination. If you wanna swim with pigs during your honeymoon, take a look at the terrific Atlantis aquarium or jump in the turqoise water of Paradise Beach you should plan spending your honeymoon in the Bahamas 🙂

7) Sardinia, Italy

From Germany Sardinia is only a 2 hour flight and still offers caribbean panoramas. The water there is crystal clear and there are many things to do such as hiking, rock climbing or mountain biking. Therefore, Sardinia is very suitable as a honeymoon destination especially for all those who don’t have a lot vacation time as Sardinia is already amazing for a few days 🙂

6) New York City

You may think now: “Why New York? That is not a very romantic place!” Oh yes… it definitely is 🙂 There are many romantic places in NYC. How about walking hand in hand through Central Park, having dinner in Little Italy and thereafter watching the sunset from the Empire State Building with your husband or wife? All that offers New York City 🙂

5) Venice, Italy

Not many places in Europe are more romantic that Venice. Unfortunately in summer Venice is quite crowded. But in spring and fall there are many romantic things to do in Venice. For instance enjoying a gondola ride with your loved one, having dinner right by the water and a drink in Harry’s Bar 🙂 You may even meet some VIPs there. I for instance met Manual Neuer (German goal keeper) at Harry’s Bar 🙂

4) Hawaii

For those who are more the adventurer type (like me) Hawaii is your place to be, especially on your honeymoon. There are so many things to do in Hawaii and you get to enjoy beautiful landscapes and delicious food. I always recommend to people visiting at least two islands and if your’re traveling from Europe staying at least 2 weeks in Hawaii. So far I can recommend Kauai and Oahu. In two weeks maybe Maui will be added to the list 😉

3) Palawan, Philippines

For all those for whom classical honeymoon destinations are not exclusive enough I can recommend Palawan. I haven’t been there yet (I’ll finally see it next month) but I’ve often read that Palawan belongs to the most beautiful islands of the world. Besides that it isn’t very touristy because Palawan is not so known yet. Just have a look at those beaches 🙂

2) Santorini, Greece

My absolutely favorite place in Europe is Santorini. I also think that Santorini is super romantic. Not without a reason we watched an engagement there last time 😉

Some get engaged in Santorini, others even get married there (a friend of mine got married in Santorini). Aren’t her pictures simply stunning?!? 😀 This place really has something magical to offer for couples 🙂

1) Maldives

For those who’ve never been to the Maldives you should definitely go there for your honeymoon. On our first time in the Maldives we were really “flashed” because it’s such a stunning place. Just pay attention to the date because unfortunately only December to March the weather is really nice in the Maldives. So for those who are a bit flexible with the date definitely visit the Maldives! Maybe even stay one or two nights on a private island 😉 It doesn’t get more romantic than that 😀
