10 Dec How can you afford everything?
βHow can you afford your travels etc.?β That is definitely one of the questions I get asked most often. From the outside my life may look like that I always sit in a tropical place drinking a cocktail…
…but of course that is not the case π Behind everything there is a lot of hard work!
Already in high school I’ve always worked really hard. When I was only 13 years old I started working as a babystitter. Later I worked three times a week in a bakery. I had to be at work there at 5 am. Hence, I could never go out. Or when I did I had to go from the club straight to work π However, by not going out very often and working a lot I’ve always been able to save quite a high amount of money. Some of which I then spend on flights etc.
Because my big passion has always been traveling! Other people save their money for an expensive chanel bag or Louboutin shoesβ¦ in my case it has always been traveling. I don’t put much attention to expensive designer clothes, I always buy my cosmetics in a drug store, I don’t own a car, my rent is quite cheap, I buy my groceries at Aldi etc.. Overall, I’m a super economical person.
On top of that I am also very lucky having many friends around the world. Hence, I often only need to pay for flights. Being a travel blogger of course I also get invited by hotels sometimes. Hence, in that case I also only have to pay for the flights.
But even then there is a lot of hard work behind it! Because of course the hotels wanna see nice pictures and videos. Hence, even when I’m on “vacation” I often stay up until 3 o’clock writing blogposts, editing pictures or videos etc. And then waking up early again and hopfeully looking fresh in front of the camera π Of course I love my “job” (it’s not my main job but a very time-consuming and fun side-job). But you can’t make something out of nothing!
Therefor, I can really recommend everyone to work hard towards reaching your goals and fight for your dreams! Even when it means starting with work at 5am and selling rolls π I always enjoyed doing it because I knew why I did it π
One often speaks about “luck” when good things happen in your life. I also see it that way and I’m extremely thankful when I get to experience such wonderful moments. However, I would rather say it is the “fortune of the hard-working” π Because I believe that you can influence your luck up to some point. Hence work hard for your luck π
