My Travel Tips for Abu Dhabi

My Travel Tips for Abu Dhabi

Hi lovelies,

I’ve just returned from Abu Dhabi. This is the perfect time to give you some travel tips for Abu Dhabi πŸ™‚

Here are my personal Top 10 Travel Tips for Abu Dhabi:

1) Visit the Grand Mosque

I’ve never been that impressed by a “building”. We felt like in One Thousand and One Night. Pay attention to wearing something long. You don’t need to wear a cover up though as you can rent it for free in front of the mosque. I recommend you going there right before sunset. You will see the most stunning scenes then.

2) Participate in a Desert Safari

One of our coolest experiences was doing a desert safari. If you are a person who gets scared quite easily this might not be your favorite excursion though. Sometimes the drivers drive really fast and you get the feeling that the car will tip over next πŸ˜› If you love adventures though this is the right excursion for you.

3) Visit the Ferrari World

Unfortunately only two of us had the chance seeing it. Definitely wear long clothes and go for a ride in the fastest rollercoaster of the world.

4) Kiss a Camel πŸ˜‰

I’ve rarely ever seen such sweet animals like the camels in Abu Dhabi. Try to see them in free nature though and not in captivity.

5) Try out Sand Boarding

It looks easier than it really is but for sure it’s a lot of fun! We tried out sand boarding during our desert safari.

6) Pay attention to the Taxi Drivers

Never enter a taxi without a taximeter. Otherwise you will pay too much. We’ve experiences it that the taxi driver drove detours just to make more money. Another taxi driver didn’t have any taximeter. Hence, he wanted us to pay way to much. Besides that taking a taxi is really cheap in Abu Dhabi. Just always bring enough cash because you cannot pay with credit or debit card. I was a bit surprised by that in the beginning.

7) Do some shopping in Yas Mall

Normally I’m not a shopping queen and get bored by it quite easily. However, I didn’t have the feeling at Yas Mall. There are many really cool stores there such as Vicoria’s Secret, Pink, Bath & Body Works and many cool restaurants.

Here you can see what I bought at Victoria’s Secret and at Bath & Body Works πŸ˜‰

8) Eat a Cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory

I know Cheesecake Factory already from the USA. Funnily I’ve never had a cheesecake there before πŸ˜› Hence, I tried them out at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi. My personal favorite is the “Oreo Dream Extreme Cheesecake” and the “Ultimate Red Velvet Cheesecake”. Both tasted simply divine! Also all other food is amazing there. Hence, Cheesecake Factory is a great stop while shopping.

9) Withdraw enough Cash beforehand

The day of the Formula 1 race we’ve experienced it that four different ATM machines ran out of cash. Hence, withdraw some money beforehand or at the airport. Because often credit or debit cards are not accepted in Abu Dhabi such as in the cabs.

10) Make a stop at Dubai

Unfortunately we only spent three days in Abu Dhabi and our program was quite tight. Thanks again toΒ LTUR for everything πŸ™‚ If we had have more time in Abu Dhabi we would have definitely spend a day in Dubai. It’s not far away from Abu Dhabi. You can even take a taxi from Abu Dhabi to Dubai.

I’m currently cutting my “Follow Me Around Abu Dhabi” video with even more impressions πŸ˜‰ Follow me on YouTube “pilotmadeleine” to find out first when it’s online πŸ™‚

Have you ever been to Abu Dhabi? And if so what did you like most there?

Xoxo
