18 Nov Six Senses Laamu, Maldives – Review
Hi lovelies,
because I’ve just returned from the Maldives I wanna take the chance to write a review about our stay at Six Senses Laamu. It was the first hotel we visited during our stay in the Maldives and we’ve been extremely impressed by it.
I’ve divided this blog post in several categories so you can get an even better impression π
We’ve also filmed a video about Six Senses Laamu with many beautiful island scenes π
Water Villas
We were really lucky to stay in one of the stunning water villas (villas directly by the water). There are also other great room options such as the beach villas (villas directly by the beach). Being a big water fan staying in one of the lovely water villas was perfect for me π
That’s how beautiful the water villas look from above π
I almost couldn’t believe my own eyes seeing the view from our terrace for the first time π
Such a work space is really something special π
And this infinity pool π
My personal highlight of our apartment was the glass tub with an underwater world view.
Although the toilet with glass floor was also something special π
The shower was an outdoor shower (of course covered) which I find really cool.
I also loved this cozy corner directly below the roof. It was perfect for watching stars at night π
That’s how beautiful the water villas look from outside.
And from inside. We really liked the design of our villa!
Already on the first evening we were so lucky having seen the most vibrant and colorful sunset ever π
Here you can see a few aerial shots of our water villa π
Food
All foodies will have the best time at Six Senses Laamu. The food on vacation is always very important to me. I can honestly say: I’ve never had such an amazing food as on Six Senses Laamu! Both of us didn’t eat one piece which didn’t taste amazing. That is really rare π
Being a breakfast lover my favorite meal of the day was the breakfast at Six Senses Laamu.
Really impressive is the glass cealing. You will not only see it in the water villas but also in the restaurants.
In the morning there is a gigantic selection of fresh fruit, bread, mueslis, juices, smoothies, sushi etc. π
Besides that you can order your own waffles, crΓͺpes and pancakes. That was always our highlight of the day π
You then get to enjoy your breakfast along with such a stunning view π
Unfortunately we overslept a bit the first day. But it was absolutely no problem to order breakfast to your own villa.
What I find also amazing at Six Senses Laamu is that there is unlimited complimentary ice cream. And not any kind but the most delicious selfmade ice cream. That is really a big plus for ice cream lovers like myself π
For lunch I can recommend the pool restaurantΒ “Sip Sip”. They not only serve a delicious brick oven pizza but also other delicious meals which you then get to enjoy directly by or in the pool.
Our favorite dinner restaurant was the Japanese restaurant “Zen”. You can get the world’s best sushi there! Seriously π
Also all other restaurants on the island such as the organic restaurant “Leaf”, the “Chill Bar” or the “Longitute” offer amazing food! All vegans or vegetarians have plenty of food options as well on Six Senses Laamu.
Our culinary highlight was the seafood buffet. I immedialy attacked the dessert buffet π
Beaches
Because the island is quite large Six Senses Laamu has many beautiful beaches. Especially when the weather is good the colors will shine in vibrant turquoise.
Many watersport activities such as Stand Up Paddle Boarding are complimentary at Six Senses Laamu. This is perfect for athletic people like myself.
Pool
In addition to the beautiful infinity pool of the water villas, Six Senses Laamu also has a stunning pool open to all hotel guests. It is located directly by the beach.
In conclusion we can say that we were extremely impressed by Six Senses Laamu! I believe I’ve never stayed in such a beautiful resort. And that makes sense because Six Senses Laamu offers the perfect package of stunning villas, amazing food, great activities, beautiful beaches and super friendly employees.
Of course the resort is not very cheap but I think it’s definitely worth saving money for as you will certainly not be disappointed! In our case we are very thrilled having had the chance staying in this beautiful resort. And I’m sure it wasn’t our last time at Six Senses Laamu π

Posted at 00:08h, 03 NovemberWas it an additional fee to get from MalΓ© to the Six Senses hotel? And did you take a sea plane or boat? Thank you!
Madeleine Schneider-Weiffenbach
Posted at 12:54h, 10 NovemberYes, there is. You can check with the hotel. You first take a small plane from Male to a local island. From there there is a short boat ride to the resort π
