10 Tips for more Motivation in Sports

Also I have days where I hardly wanna leave my bed and don’t feel like working out. Especially in winter, when it’s cold outside, I often rather wanna stay at home and cuddle with my cuddly blanket in front of the television.

Here are some of my motivation tips for you guys. They will help you to motivate yourself and to have find fun again in sports.

1) Find a workout buddy

If you’ve made plans to work out with other people you less often tend to skip training. Besides that it’s much for fun doing sports in a group anyways.

2) Take some good music with you

I’ve tested it on myself: when I listen to cool (and quick) music I speed up my workout, especiall while doing cardio. I get mostly motivated by house music but of course that is individual 😉

3) Prepare yourself a delicious post workout meal

You shouldn’t eat too much right before your workout so you won’t feel tired and lazy during it. That’s why I always look forward to a nice meal afterwards. Best is to prepare already something yummy prior to it so that you can look forward to some delicious food afterwards.

4) Bring enough water with you

Especially during the training it’s important to drink enough water. For those that wanna pimp their water a bit just add fruit such as lemon, lime, raspberries, blueberries etc. to make some fruit infused water.

5) Find body idols

It sounds funny but it works almost every time. If I see pictures by women who look toned but not to manly I store them on my iPhone. And I will look at them each time I feel like skipping my workout. Then I always think: “She worked really hard to get this body and you’re not gonna skip training today”. Believe me, that’s the best motivation ever 😀

6) Wear nice sporting clothes

When I wear new and nice gym gear I am much more motivated and excited to show them off in the gym 😀

The same applies to new sneakers.

7) Have a look for a nice place to workout

It’s important to feel good while doing sports. In summer it’s really nice working out outdoors, or on vacation at the beach. Have a look for a surrounding where you feel comfortable.

8) Eliminate barries

Mentally prepare yourself the evening prior to your workout. Pack your gym bag, buy some food for a delicious post workout meal, plan to go directly from work to the gym etc. The less barriers there are the less likely you will skip doing sports.

9) Have a look for something that you enjoy doing

It doesn’t necessarily need to be the gym. If you prefer playing tennis, go swimming etc. do that. The most important thing is that you look for something that you actually enjoy doing. Only then you will have fun and remain motivated 🙂

10) Always think about all the advantages

If you’ve kept doing sports for a while you will see all those great benefits: You feel much fitter, won’t struggle with your weight as much, have an increases energy level (also in your daily life), feel better in your own body etc. Always think about those advantages. Especially when you feel like skipping your workout.
