My Travel Tips for Sardinia

My Travel Tips for Sardinia

A few months ago my boyfriend had a few layovers in Sardinia, Italy so I decided to fly with him. I had absolutely zero expectations and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the stunning water there. With a flight time of less than two hours from Germany that felt really incredible!

Because my boyfriend was based in Alghero, we looked for a hotel close to the airport. We decided to stay at the Domominore Country Hotel Alghero. It’s a small hotel, which was totally fine with us. We paid less than 100€ per night (including breakfast). You cannot expect much luxury there, which we didn’t, so it was ok.

The breakfast was a dream though!

The pool wasn’t bad either 😀

My Travel Tips for Sardinia:

1. Rent a car

Renting a car is a must at Sardinia, because you can only visit those beautiful places on the island via car.

2. Visit the North Coast

The best beaches of Sardinia are supposed to be at the East Coast. However, we’ve already experienced beautiful beaches at the North Coast of Sardinia, which is closer to Alghero.

3. Go Rock Climbing at Cala Spinosa

This is how the rocks look like from above.

You surely need to be athletic and wear good shoes, but the bays of Cala Spinosa are definitely worth the effort.

Those bays are waiting for you when reaching the bottom. Check out this water!

4. Visit the Osteria Barcellonetta in Alghero

If you are in Alghero you need to have dinner or lunch at the restaurant „Osteria Barcellonetta“. I’ve never eaten such a good pizza or Spaghetti Frutti di Mare. You will thank me for recommending you this place 😀

The Frozen Yogurt or selfmade ice cream in Sardinia is simply amazing!

Especially the Frozen Greek Yogurt with walnuts and honey is to die for!

7. Dare to discover the Unknown

We’ve discovered this beautiful bay just by chance. So it’s worth it stopping at wonderful spots you see along the road.

8. Swim in the clear water of La Pelosa Beach

At the weekend you shouldn’t visit this beach because it will be extremely crowded. Otherwise you can expect simply stunning colors.

9. Go shopping in the Streets of Alghero

In Alghero you can find super cute little shops. You shouldn’t skip the sweets stores and the coral shops.

10. Visit the Harbour of Stintino

You don’t get get so see such a beautiful harbour very often. It’s quite small but super pretty. You can for instance make a stop here on your way to La Pelosa Beach.
